Teach Others Also
the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
-2 Timothy 2:2
What is Expected of You as a Student at TVBBI
We do not have a long, laborious list of rules. Rather than that, we are going to grant you the greatest thing that we can, our trust. We are going to trust that you have a sincere desire to live for the Lord. We are going to trust that you are going to give your best effort in the classroom. We are also going to trust that you will be honest with us and that you will live some semblance of a holy, Christian life. If you lie to us, or deceive us, we are going to believe you. But, if we discover that you have lied or deceived us, we will probably never believe or trust you again. We will, if you repent, forgive all that but you will lose our trust and respect. The value of those things is entirely up to you, but you are advised not to take it too lightly.
As time goes by, we will introduce more rules if the student body proves to lack the character to live responsibly for Christ. We do not look forward to this, but then, it’s really up to the students as to whether they are worthy of the initial trust granted them.
There are some things that will be expected of you as a student at TVBBI. They are:
1. Church Attendance
You will be in every service of Treasure Valley Baptist Church that you are able to attend. This is not a loyalty nor a policing matter. We believe any Christian is spiritually poorer for every church service they miss. Thus, we believe that being in all the services will have a positive spiritual effect that even your classroom studies cannot provide.
2. Class Attendance
Obviously, you will be expected to attend all classes since that’s what you’re here for. No “Classes missed Demerit System” is being enforced at this time. Therefore, the decision of the President will decide the fate of a delinquent student. If an uncooperative, wayward student requires a demerit system we will institute one. All parties involved will fare better if character and honor motivate class attendance.
3. Local Church Ministry
In addition to your church attendance, you are required to participate in one of the church evangelical outreach ministries. Those would include, but not be restricted to Bus Visitation, Sunday School Classes, Street Ministry, Door-to-Door Visitation, Nursing Home Ministry, Prison Ministry, Choir, Nursery or any other. Your participation in a church ministry will be checked and count toward your final grade.
4. Bible Reading
We at Treasure Valley Baptist Church and Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute put an immense value on the Bible and its effect on any Christian who reads it faithfully. Many a student has fallen into the foolish overconfidence that since they are actively learning the Bible there is no need for them to read it. This is a fallacy! The Bible declares that you, as well as the Faculty, Church Members and all Christians in general are desperately wicked. While Bible
preaching will help to suppress your wickedness; you are not in church every day. But you are wicked every day. It is the belief of Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute that daily, personal Bible reading will help with moral, spiritual, and emotional difficulties in all Christians.
5. Christian Life
It is expected of you that if you chose to gain more Bible training you should be somewhat more dedicated in your Christian life. That means we believe you not only wish to be trusted but that you are worthy of that trust. We are willing to grant you that trust, once. If you prove unworthy of that trust you may continue attending your classes but will be dealt with as someone who cannot be trusted. We are not a police force. We do not intend on spying on anyone. But we are a Bible believing institution that wishes to have a good testimony in our community and across the country. Therefore if, while here, you live in such a way that we feel you may harm that testimony, we reserve the right to speak to you about certain activities in your life. If deemed necessary, we reserve the right to dismiss you as a student.
If you leave this institution before graduating
Our interest in our students is solely based on bestowing on them the best Bible education we can and to provide a safe, spiritual environment for them via attendance at Treasure Valley Baptist Church. We do not believe that a student who, for whatever reason, chooses to end their education here is doomed to failure and destruction. We are bound by our Christian faith to support one another. If you leave, not for disciplinary reasons, you will not be shunned or “black-balled” and we will leave the door open to your return if you so desire. We are supposed to be brothers who look out for the welfare of one another rather than seeking power and influence.
I hope these words will clarify any questions you may have concerning Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute.
In Christ’s Service,
Dr. Samuel C. Gipp

About
Who we are and why
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
-2 Timothy 2:1-5
The goals of Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute are not numerous or elaborate. We don't promise success, recognition or fame. Rather, we aim to give every student the very best Bible education available. We offer to do that within the environment of a tremendous church, Treasure Valley Baptist Church.
We believe a thorough, in-depth education of Bible knowledge will be beneficial to a broad spectrum of Christians.
The Goals of Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute
1
Prepare future missionaries, pastors and evangelists for the ministry
We believe God put the Local Church here to edify and perfect (not sinless perfection) His people as plainly stated in Eph. 4:11, 12. Any man called to one of the three ministries mentioned above will be better equipped to achieve the goal of edifying the Saints if he has a thorough knowledge of the Bible. If you are a ministerial student, you will be taught basic Bible doctrines and proper Christian living as well as how to prepare a sermon, found a local church and establish a mission work on a foreign field. Treasure Valley Baptist Church has congregants who have years of experience with establishing thriving mission works around the world.
Also, Treasure Valley Baptist Church has numerous veteran missionaries in to preach during the year or to present their fields during its yearly Missions Conference, thus giving students access to a wealth of information and experience.
2
Prepare church members to be a help and blessing in their local church
God does not call every Christian to preach. But we believe He desires all Christians to serve. There is no shame in being “just a church member.” Anyone, male or female, who attends TVBBI and returns to their home church, stands to be a help to his pastor not only through their knowledge of Scripture, but the ethics taught in the classroom.

ADJUNCT FACULTY
There are times during the year Treasure Valley Baptist Church is privileged to have visiting missionaries and preachers here for special meetings. The Bible Institute has had the opportunity to have them teach the institute students special classes and to have a time of visiting with the students, and allowing them to ask questions about their particular ministries and experiences.
About TVBC
Treasure Valley Baptist Church was founded in the early 1970’s. It has had the present pastor, Dr. Rick DeMichele for 35 years. When Dr. DeMichele took the church, it had a congregation of 175 people. Today it regularly hosts close to 1,000 people every Sunday. The congregation is outgoing, evangelical, and genuinely friendly to all who attend the services.
When Dr. DeMichele took the church in 1986 it consisted of one building. Since that time a new sanctuary was added to that building, followed by a free-standing gymnasium. In 2002 a 1,200-seat sanctuary was built near the original building. Then in 2018 another building was built to house the Christian School. Treasure Valley Baptist now consists of more than 13 acres of classrooms, offices, and the church sanctuary.
Anyone who attends Treasure Valley Baptist Church will enjoy

Anyone who attends Treasure Valley Baptist Church will enjoy spiritual growth due to the preaching and teaching of Pastor DeMichele and the guest speakers he invites in throughout the year. They will also enjoy warm, Christian fellowship with the members of the congregation.
It is not the goal of Treasure Valley Baptist Bible Institute or Treasure Valley Baptist Church to be a “Talent Magnet” which seeks to glean the most valuable graduates to keep to its own profit.
That is not the way Pastor DeMichele thinks or operates. He has often recommended talented and desirable graduates to return to their home church to be a help to their pastor. We are here to help our students not to capitalize on them.
Students are encouraged to return to their home churches but welcomed to stay at TVBC. Our primary hope is that they will follow however God leads.

Academics
What we do
Students earning the required credits will qualify for a Bachelor of Divinity degree. (See Graduation Requirements for more details.) Since some classes are for men only, ladies can qualify for a full Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree by supplementing those classes with electives.
Part-time students are encouraged to attend and can earn a degree at their own pace.
The curriculum is a three-year rotating program. Fall Semester begins in August and lasts until approximately the second week of December. Spring Semester begins approximately one week into the new year and finishes around the middle of May.
Report cards are issued at the end of each semester. Transcripts may be obtained by writing the Administrator. Graduation takes place at the end of the spring semester. Your report card will not be issued if you have an outstanding balance.
CORE CLASS
Required for all prospective graduating students. (Classes with gender restrictions are allowed to be made up with electives for female students wishing to earn a degree.)
SPECIAL ADJUNCT
Adjunct classes will be held periodically specializing in Church Planting, Missions or other pertinent ministerial topics. Classes will be held on Sunday afternoon. While these are classified as elective credits, full time students preparing for ministry are expected to attend these classes. There is no fee for these classes.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE/OUTREACH
See Course Descriptions for requirements and expectations. There is no fee required for these credits. Our desire is for the student to learn to be an active member in their church.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
For a student to graduate in three years they must complete approximately thirty-seven credits per semester. Each semester must include all core courses, three years of Christian service, and the proper balance of elective courses. Any part-time student may follow this course of study at their own pace and when they reach the minimum credit requirements, can graduate at the next graduation service.
DEGREES
Our primary degree is a Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.), designed for men who are preparing for the ministry or to be a help in their church. We also offer a Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBS) degree. The BBS degree is offered to those who fulfilled the required classes but not the entire curriculum being offered. This also applies to our female students with a slight adjustment to their curriculum studies. Some courses may need to be altered accordingly.
Students expecting to graduate should make an appointment with Dr. Gipp to discuss their accumulated credits and anticipated graduation date.
